Strofa 1 Oh, ce veste îmbucurătoare, (Oh, what joyful news) Care îngerii ne-au adus, (The angels have brought us:) Veste despre mare îndurare, (News of great mercy) Care Dumnezeu ne-a trimes de sus. (Which God has sent us from above.)

Refren Iacă S-a născut Isus, (Behold, Jesus is born,) Mântuire ne-a adus. (He has brought us salvation.) El ne scapă din nevoi, (He delivers us from trouble;) Dumnezeu este cu noi! (God is with us!)

Strofa 2 Oh, ce veste îmbucurătoare, (Oh, what joyful news!) Cântăm toți cu însuflețire. (We all sing with enthusiasm.) Să vestească deci buzele noastre: (So let our lips proclaim:) Domnul ne-a dăruit mântuire. (The Lord has granted us salvation.)

Strofa 3 Oh, ce veste îmbucurătoare, (Oh, what joyful news!) Ea stâmpără orice dureri. (It soothes every pain.) Domnul de sus la noi se coboară, (The Lord descends to us from above,) Cel sfânt, ca să ne ridice la cer. (The Holy One, to raise us to heaven.)
