#24 - Nădejdea mea e Dumnezeu

Strofa 1 1. Nădejdea mea e Dumnezeu (My hope is God;) Puterea Lui e mare. (His power is great.) /: Prin dragostea şi harul Său (/: Through His love and grace) Nădăjduiesc şi cânt mereu (I keep hoping and singing,) Căci a salvat sufletul meu (For He has saved my soul) Din veşnica pierzare :/ (From eternal destruction. :/)

Strofa 2 2. O licărire-n infinit (A glimmer in infinity) E viaţa mea întreagă, (Is my whole life,) /: Dar pentru mine S-a jertfit (/: Yet for me He sacrificed Himself;) Isus din cer m-a mântuit (Jesus from heaven saved me,) Şi-o viaţă fără de sfârşit (And a life without end) De veşnicii mă leagă. :/ (Binds me to eternity. :/)

Strofa 3 3. Ţărână trecătoare sunt (I am passing dust,) Dar cred în nemurire (Yet I believe in immortality,) /: Căci Duhul Celui veşnic Sfânt (/: For the Spirit of the eternally Holy One) Îmi dă putere şi avânt (Gives me strength and zeal,) Să pot pleca de pe pământ (So I may leave this earth) Dincolo-n strălucire :/ (For the radiance beyond. :/)

Strofa 4 4. Sunt călător spre ţara mea (I am a traveler toward my homeland;) Cu Domnul am izbândă (With the Lord I have victory.) /: Mi-e călăuză dreapta Sa (/: His right hand is my guide.) O, Doamne Tu nu vei lăsa (O Lord, You will never let) Nicicând să cadă-n lupta grea (Fall in the fierce struggle) Fiinţa mea plăpândă :/ (My fragile being. :/)

Strofa 5 5. În glas de ciocârlii duios (In the tender song of larks) Şi-n vuietul de ape (And in the roar of waters,) /: În flori şi-n tot ce-i mai frumos (/: In flowers and all that is most beautiful,) În cei răscumpăraţi de jos, (In the redeemed here below,) Iubirea sfânt-a lui Hristos (The holy love of Christ) O simt tot mai aproape. :/ (I feel ever nearer. :/)

Eu am aflat în Creator (In the Creator I have found) Şi pacea şi menirea (Both peace and purpose.) /: Stăpân al vieții ziditor (/: Lord and Maker of life,) Tu mi-ai dat lacrima de dor (You gave me the tear of longing,) Să Te iubesc, să mă-nfior (To love You, to tremble in awe,) Şi să-Ţi aştept venirea :/ (And to await Your coming. :/)
