#105 - Cuvântul: „Cu voi sunt, deci nu vă temeți!”

Text din Cântările Evangheliei (1913), verificat pe scanul ediției. Ortografia este actualizată; formulările istorice sunt păstrate. Această variantă diferă de cea interpretată de Răsunet Divin.

Strofa 1 Cuvântul: „Cu voi sunt, (The promise: “I am with you,) Deci nu vă temeți!” (So do not fear!”) Luminează-n calea (Shines upon the path) Acestei vieți. (Of this life.) Ca prin nori o rază (Like a ray through clouds) Cum străbate-așa, (Breaking through like this,) Mă-mbucură graiul: (These words bring me joy:) „În veci nu te voi lăsa!” (“I will never leave you!”)

Refren Eu nu te-oi lăsa, (I will not leave you,) Eu nu te-oi lăsa! (I will not leave you!) Așa mi-a promis El mie: (This is what He promised me:) „În veci nu te voi lăsa.” (“I will never leave you.”)

Strofa 2 Floarea veștejește, (The flower withers,) Mirosu-i pierzând; (Losing its fragrance;) Pot să treacă toate, (Everything may pass away,) Dar asta nicicând: (But never this:) Că Isus e al meu (That Jesus is mine) Și că Îl iubesc, (And that I love Him,) Că El niciodată (That He never) Nu mă lasă să-I lipsesc. (Lets me be absent from Him.)

Strofa 3 Dacă pe-a mea cale (If along my path) Se va-ntuneca, (Darkness should fall,) Parcă-L aud grăind: (I seem to hear Him say:) „Nu te-nfricoșa!” (“Do not be afraid!”) Iar odată-n cer sus (And one day in heaven above,) Dacă-L voi vedea, (When I see Him,) Strig de bucurie: (I cry out with joy:) Că tot cu mine era! (He was with me all along!)
