(My new garment is cleansed through the holy blood.) Când satan a vrut să lovească, (When Satan sought to strike,) M-a păzit o mână cerească, (A heavenly hand protected me;) Scut mi-ai fost, îmi ești și vei fi și în veșnicii. (You were, are, and will be my shield, even through eternity.)

Strofa 2 2. Când zăceam cuprins de-ntristare, (When I lay overcome with sorrow,) Doamne, Tu mi-ai dat alinare; (Lord, You gave me comfort;) Niciodată nu m-ai ocolit, ci m-ai întărit. (You never passed me by, but strengthened me.) Șansă nu aveam de scăpare (I had no hope of escape;) Doamne, Tu mi-ai dat vindecare, (Lord, You gave me healing,) Să fiu mădular sănătos prin Tine, Hristos. (That through You, Christ, I might be a healthy member of Your body.)

Strofa 3 3. În necazuri nenumărate (Through countless troubles) Mi-ai fost tată și mi-ai fost frate, (You were my father and my brother;) M-ai scos din nevoi și amar prin sfântul Tău har. (You brought me out of hardship and bitterness through Your holy grace.) Când pe patul de suferință (When, upon my bed of suffering,) Te-am chemat mereu cu credință, (I called to You continually in faith,) Mi-ai răspuns neîntârziat și m-ai vindecat. (You answered without delay and healed me.)
