Dacă ai uleiul, candela ţi-e plină, (Whether you have oil, whether your lamp is full,) Verifică dragul meu! (Examine this, my dear friend!) Haina ţi-e încinsă, ai încălţămintea, (Is your robe fastened, do you have your footwear,) Duhul adevărului? (The Spirit of truth?) Căci se-aud în zare lupte, zgomot mare, (For battles and a great noise can be heard in the distance,) Care prevestesc: (Foretelling:)

Strofa 2 2. Domnul îţi vorbeşte, azi te pregăteşte, (The Lord speaks to you; today He prepares you,) Ceasul este pe sfârşit! (The hour is drawing to its close!) Stai în rugăciune, jertfe, fapte bune, (Remain in prayer, sacrifice and good deeds,) Să fii aur curăţit! (So that you may be purified gold!) Strânge în hambare lacrimi şi sudoare, (Gather into the storehouses your tears and sweat,) Ce-ai lucrat pentru Isus, (What you have labored for Jesus,) Căci se-aud în zare lupte, zgomot mare (For battles and a great noise can be heard in the distance,) Care prevestesc: (Foretelling:)

Priveghează turmă, că-n vremea din urmă (Keep watch, flock, for in the last days) Vor fi glasuri de-amăgiri, (There will be voices of deception,) Dacă-i cu putinţă să strice-n credinţă (Seeking, if possible, to corrupt the faith) Chiar poporul cel ales! (Even of the chosen people!) Cere doar puterea să ai înfierea (Ask only for the power to receive adoption) Prin Duhul cel Sfânt promis! (Through the promised Holy Spirit!) Stai în umilinţă, să ai biruinţă, (Remain humble, that you may have victory,) Căci vine Isus! (For Jesus is coming!)
